Tourism Saskatchewan signs on as local corporate sponsor for 2018 Mastercard Memorial Cup

The 2018 Mastercard Memorial Cup Host Committee, together with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), is pleased to announce the addition of Tourism Saskatchewan as a
local corporate sponsor for the upcoming 100th anniversary edition of the junior hockey championship.

“Hosting this event comes at a time when hockey is top of mind for our province – especially for the community of Humboldt. For so many players, coaches, and parents, the tragedy experienced
by the Humboldt Broncos hits close to home,” Gene Makowsky, Minister Responsible for Tourism Saskatchewan said. “Like those who began the Memorial Cup tradition grieving the tragic loss of
young players in World War I, what unites us this year and going forward is our shared love of the game.”

“We’re delighted to see Tourism Saskatchewan add its enthusiastic backing to 2018 Mastercard Memorial Cup,” Shaun Semple, Regina Host Committee Chair, said. “Tourism Saskatchewan has a
solid record of support for event hosting and will be a key strategic partner for us as the championship approaches.”

On behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan, Tourism Saskatchewan is pleased to welcome the 2018 Mastercard Memorial Cup to Regina and be part of this exciting event. As a local sponsor,
Tourism Saskatchewan feels it’s important to recognize the many families affected by the Humboldt Broncos tragedy and will offer any complimentary sponsor tickets received to those
families.

The 2018 Mastercard Memorial Cup Host Committee is anticipating further sponsorship announcements in the coming weeks, given considerable interest from both local and national
organizations.
