Windsor set for CHL City Expo Draft on Facebook Live Thursday

(Windsor, ON) – The 2017 Mastercard Memorial Cup Host Organizing Committee is set to broadcast a CHL City Expo Draft via Facebook Live this Thursday starting at 1pm.

Taking part will be 89 classes from 41 schools representing all three area school boards.

Through the draft, the classes will be assigned their own Canadian Hockey League team from either the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League or Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. They will be encouraged to follow their team through the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.

The classes will also prepare a display project board, highlighting the history of the team, geographic facts, military history and more information about their chosen city.

Each project will be on display as part of The CHL Expo, located at The WFCU Centre during the Mastercard Memorial Cup May 18th to May 28th, and each participating class will also be on-hand to participate in an interactive Fan Fun Day during the event.

The lucky classes whose teams make it all the way will enjoy a VIP experience at the Mastercard Memorial Cup, as guests of the Host Organizing Committee.

Media interested in covering this event are invited to visit the Governor’s Room at the WFCU Centre either before the draft begins (at noon) or following the draft (at 2:30).

The event will be hosted on the 2017 Mastercard Memorial Cup’s official facebook page, at Facebook.com/MCMemorialCup, starting with the Ontario Hockey League portion of the draft at 1pm, followed by the Western Hockey League at 1:30 and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League at 2:00.
